About the conflict between Epic Games and the Apple Store
Recently, a huge conflict broke out between Apple and Fortnite — developer of Epic Games. What happened and why did the conflict start to gain momentum so quickly? Let’s analyze the situation in details.
Let’s start with the fact that earlier in August 2020 there was a controversial situation when Epic Games decided to start selling in-game currency behind Apple’s back. The campaign’s reason was to outwit the excessive commission in 30% that Apple Store charges from customers. As expected, the response from the IT- giant was not long in coming — the company’s app was simply removed from the Apple Store. Epic Games, of course, did not approve of such aggression.
The situation became more heated when Epic Games filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing it in monopolizing the industry. It was not a surprise that Fortnite decided to take this step, because after closing the app in AppStore, the company began to lose money actively.

We are against censorship, which is practiced by such IT-giants as Apple, Google and other corporations. It’s an undeniable fact that Apple has been censoring apps for a long time, and deliberately forbade app developers to report such bans, because it was their idea.

This will never happen with Free TON and that’s why:
- The open community of developers has been working on the release of decentralized apps — dApps on the TON OS platform for a long time. This means that all apps are built from components that are publicly available, without any questionable components. The Android and iOS apps are ready and will appear in app stores very soon.
- TON OS allows to create applications on the ton.dev platform. This means that the source code of the applications will be publicly available and developers charge fee directly.
Now about Free TON community position
What does the decentralized Free TON community think about this whole situation?
More important that Free TON does not have a monopoly intermediary that could set its price. The application code is performed on the validator`s platforms, and they do not receive any profit, except the commissions for executing code of coin transactions. This once again confirms the transparency of the decentralized community and the minimal cost of the value provided to the user.
